It is virtually Spring like today, so I thought I'd post something filled with flower power!
This is a wedding that we worked on last year at The Garden Barn in Suffolk. The Bride and Groom, Matt and Natsuki, enlisted our help to source and supply the props for their big day. We had fun assembling everything and Natsuki, who is Japanese, styled the venue beautifully. The result was a quirky mix of Japanese delicacy and English vintage.
Our leather suitcase was filled with hundreds of pretty handmade origami flower favours and wild blooms in vintage bottles and jugs adorned the tables. Pretty pom poms were hung from the ceiling and bottles of pop and beer were offered up in old apple crates.
After the ceremony, the Sun made a welcome appearance so the grown ups helped themselves to Mojitos from our hexagonal drinks dispenser while the kids played croquet on the lawn.
Cake was served on our vintage china cake plates and there were sweets in jars for those wanting more!
We now have quite a collection of vintage typewriters (in assorted colours) and often use them for styling. But Matt and Natsuki decided to use our 1940s compact as an alternative to the traditional guest book and asked guests to type their messages of love, hope and well wishes.
It was a glorious day and we were lucky enough to be featured in The September issue of local lifestyle magazine, The Cambridge Edition.
The Garden Barn is set in the grounds of a Manor House on the borders of Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. Its 18th Century, with high beams and a bright view over the gardens and rolling countryside. It's a fabulous venue that offers tranquility and a garden filled with flowers. Please check out their website for more information: http://www.thegardenbarn.co.uk
